Connie works for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) at its Darwin Air Base in the Northern Territory. Like other members of the RAAF, Connie wears a blue-toned GPU camouflage uniform, but unlike the rest of the Australian military personnel, Connie walks on all fours. Connie is in the care of Chaplain Darren Loechel, of the Australian Military Christian Fellowship. This dog's role is not to search for explosives or rescue lost people, but to provide emotional support. Yesterday, the Spanish Air Force announced that on Tuesday, August 4, the Spanish Expeditionary Air Group in Australia received a visit from Connie, stating: "Originally trained as a guide dog, Connie found her calling supporting defense personnel at RAAF Base Darwin.
