Melbourne, Aug 6: Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is on the verge of another major career milestone, needing just one wicket to equal Indian legend Kapil Dev’s tally of 434 Test wickets. Starc, who has claimed 433 wickets in 105 Tests, will have the opportunity to match and surpass Kapil during Australia’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, beginning in Darwin on August 13. He is also closing in on South African great Dale Steyn, who finished his career with 439 Test wickets. Describing the achievement as “cool and very humbling”, the 36-year-old said it was an honour to be mentioned alongside some of the game’s greatest bowlers but insisted his focus remained on contributing to the team rather than personal milestones.
