Engineering work is taking place at the end of the month on the East Coast Main Line as part of the £1.4bn East Coast Digital Programme. RECOMMENDED READING:Ricky Barsby, head of access integration (ECDP) at Network Rail, said: "The work taking place involves the final preparations for us to begin a gradual introduction of digital in-cab signalling on the East Coast Main Line. The planned works will run from 8pm on Saturday, August 29, until 8am on Monday, August 31, with significant disruption expected on Sunday, August 30. This diversion is expected to allow around 2,500 passengers to complete their journeys by train. Passengers are being urged to check all parts of their journey in advance through National Rail Enquiries or individual train operators.
