Rendezvous Days return to Grand Portage Friday and Saturday. Visit Cook County says there is a free shuttle running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between the heritage center, pow wow grounds and Grand Portage Lodge. Visitors can see the Paul LaPlante sailboat, a Mackinaw built in 2000 through a partnership between Grand Portage National Monument and Grand Marais’ North House Folk School. The Paul LaPlante will be at the dock or sailing Grand Portage Bay from August 7 to 9. Rendezvous Days attendees can also learn and play 18th century billiards, an early version of pool.
