The Lift broadcasts live from Grand Portage to celebrate Rendezvous Days. The Grand Portage National Monument was established in 1958 to preserve an area with unique historical value, ranging from ancient copper pieces to Ojibwe art from the 1930s. Veit said on a normal day, guests can experience interpretive stations, hands-on activities like flint and steel fire demonstrations, and both formal and informal programs led by volunteers and National Park Service staff. The monument has a partnership with the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, along with the National Park Service. From August 7th through the 9th, the Grand Portage National Monument is hosting their annual Rendezvous Days.
