The Get Britain Working Economic Inactivity Trailblazer, spanning York and North Yorkshire, supported 1,945 people in its first year as part of a £10 million scheme led by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority. Cllr Les said: "Ensuring that our residents and businesses have the correct skills, support and jobs is vital to driving forward North Yorkshire’s economy. The Trailblazer offers a range of support, including the Work and Skills Interchange—a service providing advice and connections for job seekers and employers. Other elements include a wage subsidy scheme, the Employer Support Programme, and health and employment services delivered in GP surgeries and community hubs.
