BOWMAN, N.D. — The Bowman City Commission held a regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 4, where the Bowman Police Department warned local residents about a scam.
According to Headley, the scam has involved men having contact with a girl named Penelope on a dating site.
The men, who decide to cut off any involvement with Penelope, then receive a call from a person pretending to be Officer Michael Snow.
Headley said that he called the number of the person impersonating Snow, but the call went to the scammer’s voicemail.
ADVERTISEMENTDuring a regular meeting in June, the commission addressed a cyberattack that encrypted every file that the Bowman Parks & Recreation encrypted.
