Tonight we remain under a level 1 for severe storms, with lingering storms into the overnight. Saturday looks to be the more active day, with scattered thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall in a short period of time. Afternoon temperatures will climb back into the upper 80s and lower 90s, bringing back that classic August feel. Looking ahead to next week, highs will return to the lower 90s across the Charlotte area, and with the humidity sticking around. We’ll still carry a chance for a few afternoon thunderstorms each day, but coverage should be much lower than what we’ve seen this week.
