ROCHESTER — Oxbow Park's new campground is set to open Sept. 1, with reservations open.
The new Olmsted County campground at 5731 County Road 105 NW in rural Byron includes 42 electric sites, water hookups, a convenient dump station, a spacious restroom facility and two vault toilets.
The decision to develop a new campground was driven by persistent flooding at the existing site.
“Moving the campground away from the flood-prone area allows us to protect both the natural landscape and the investments we make at the park.”
The new campground at Oxbow Park was made possible through funding from the Parks and Trails Legacy Fund, which supports the enhancement of outdoor recreation and natural resources across the state.
