CANNON FALLS, Minn. — A St. Paul man faces third- and fifth-degree arson charges after allegedly lighting a political campaign sign on fire July 4. Bendix James Lucken, 27, was formally charged in Goodhue County Court on Thursday, Aug. 6. Court documents allege the sign had fire damage, and a metal pole with an American flag had fire damage. On the ground next to the sign, investigators found a 32-ounce container for charcoal lighter fluid. Court documents further allege that Lucken denied taking an American flag off the metal pole before setting the fire.
