The 80-year-old has recently held off on launching further attacks on Iran, as the shortages have mainly impacted long-range guided missiles and air-defense interceptors, insiders claimed.
While addressing supporters in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 6, Trump claimed he was prepared to launch a massive attack on his opponent, before backing off; however, it was not due to a weapons shortage.
"I do not want to kill people, but at some point we're going to... we were set for the biggest attack of any attack, and we've hit them very hard for the last few months, but we were, we were all set for the biggest attack since World War II, and they called me and they said, 'Please don't do it.
And then they don't; they said, 'We never said that,'" Trump claimed.
The following day, Trump doubled down on the shortage claims and raged on Truth Social, "The U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions,' especially of certain types."
