More than 200 of these calls were related to grass fires, with crews attending blazes in Feltham, Woolwich, Romford, and other areas across the city. The recent surge in grass fires follows a weekend in which London Fire Brigade took nearly 3,000 emergency calls. The brigade has issued guidance on preventing grass fires, including avoiding barbecues in parks, public spaces, and on balconies.
