Croydon HMO to double in size after developer solves parking row

Croydon Council has approved proposals to expand the existing shared house at 34 Stroud Road from four bedrooms to eight.
An HMO (house in multiple occupation) is a property where people rent individual bedrooms but share facilities such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.
The biggest change was the addition of two off-street parking spaces in the rear garden, meaning future residents would have dedicated parking rather than relying on nearby roads.
They also said the two new parking spaces would be enough to accommodate any extra demand created by the additional residents.
Croydon Council has also required the parking spaces, cycle storage, and refuse facilities to be installed before the expanded HMO can be occupied.
