Millions of the lowest-paid workers have had a pay rise through a higher National Living Wage and Minimum Wage. VAT is being cut from electricity bills, taking around £45 off the average household bill, on top of the £117 already announced. But step by step, we're building a stronger Basingstoke and a stronger Britain, and we all have a stake in that. In the months ahead, the PM will set out a new 10-year plan to put life's essentials back under stronger public control and make them affordable again.
