India has emerged as the sport’s undisputed commercial powerhouse, fuelled by its vast fan base, financial strength and the phenomenal growth of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Besides taking the BBL to Chennai, Cricket Australia has even indicated that hosting an Ashes Test in India could be explored in the future, highlighting the commercial opportunities presented by the country’s enormous cricket market.
