Acer has announced the Japanese release of its Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptop based on AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 processor. The system brings AMD’s current AI-enabled mobile platform to Acer’s more affordable Nitro gaming family rather than reserving it for premium productivity notebooks. The Ryzen AI 7 450 combines x86 CPU cores, integrated Radeon graphics and an on-die neural-processing unit. The release is also notable because AMD’s Ryzen AI processors continue to expand beyond thin-and-light designs. Wider adoption in gaming systems gives AMD another route into a laptop market where Intel and NVIDIA remain strongly represented.
