The government has announced plans for up to 159 new NHS mental health facilities across England, including 10 new centres in the North West as part of a £343 million investment.
Lancashire and South Cumbria will receive three neighbourhood mental health centres and one specialist mental health emergency department.
The North West will see 10 neighbourhood centres and seven mental health emergency departments introduced.
Demand for mental health services has risen sharply, with around one in five people experiencing a common mental health condition each year.
The new centres aim to bring together mental health professionals, GPs, councils, the voluntary sector, and families under one roof.
