However, Carpenter isn’t alone. The story is based on a dream Carpenter had in 2024 involving a dilapidated cathedral, a murder and an ancient evil. On a first listen ‘Cathedral’ is far heavier, and metal, than anything Carpenter has released to date. Scoring a graphic novel isn’t a new idea but it’s hard to pull off. This almost makes it feel like a new Carpenter film.
