Chris doesn’t even think twice before taking Keith’s bloody shirt and wearing it himself, as he believes that his brother deserves a shot at a happy life. But Keith doesn’t show gratitude, instead he puts Chris down for being a great brother who is righteous and kind. Chris tries to buy a hunting rifle to protect his family, but the shopkeeper won’t give him one without some form of ID. Chris doesn’t have enough time to reload his rifle, so he lunges at the wolf before he can attack Jake. There’s nobody but Hersh who hunts around the area, so Hersh tries to be the bigger man and offer Chris some grace.
