— The 86th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally starts tomorrow, but Main Street is already littered with hundreds, if not thousands, or motorcycles.
The rally brings nearly half a million people to Sturgis each year and is one of the biggest events for the State of South Dakota.
Another business on Main Street, Loud American Sturgis, reports that they receive roughly 20 - 25% of their yearly sales from the Friday before the Rally to the final day of the event.
"Sturgis has turned into a pretty good tourism town," Kinney said.
"So really, we have about a five to six month tourism season that is really strong, built primarily on the fame of the rally.”
