Chairing a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Karwar, Savadi said inputs would be gathered from legislators and officials across all Assembly constituencies before recommending relief measures to the state government.
Savadi also visited the sea erosion-hit Harawada village in Ankola taluk, where he interacted with residents and inspected the extent of coastal damage.
Stressing the need for a permanent solution, he directed officials to take measures to prevent further erosion.
"If permanent protective measures are not taken, more houses and agricultural land could be lost to the sea in the coming years.
Residents told the minister that although the intensity of rain, wind and sea waves was lower than in previous years, sea erosion had continued to worsen, leaving several houses along the coast vulnerable.
