Hyderabad:Dr Emmadi Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, a Telangana native, assumed charge as Consul-General of India to Dubai and the Northern Emirates on Wednesday. Dr Reddy holds an MBBS degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, and an MD from AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr Reddy, a 2008 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, previously served as Regional Passport Officer (RPO) and head of MEA Branch Secretariat in Hyderabad, and as special secretary in the Telangana industries department on deputation. Dr Reddy held an interactive session with members of the media at the Consulate General of India, Dubai and appreciated their continued support in playing a vital role in the consulate's outreach and communication efforts. He reaffirmed the consulate's commitment towards maintaining a constructive engagement with the media and looked forward to working together for the welfare of the diaspora, the Consulate General of India said on its X handle.
