After conducting environmental studies and field inspections, the committee submitted its report to the government. Official sources said the committee recommended replacing the blanket restrictions with a calibrated development model backed by strict environmental safeguards. To safeguard the reservoirs, the committee recommended construction of pipelines around the lakes to divert sewage generated in surrounding villages away from the waters. It also proposed protecting irrigation channels and ensuring that the reservoirs retain adequate water levels by diverting water from Kondapochamma Sagar whenever necessary. The report recommended scientific demarcation of catchment and non-catchment areas in every village based on studies conducted by the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI).
