Nalgonda: A woman and her teenage son, who were headed to Hyderabad for his college admission, were killed a truck collided with their car on the Dhamsalapur bridge on the new Khammam–Devarapalli National Highway in Khammam district on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Pokabathini Sujatha and her 17-year-old son, residents of Gandhinagar in Chintakani mandal. Sujatha and the teen died on the spot, while her husband Narsimha Rao sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. The Khammam–Devarapalli Greenfield National Highway was opened to traffic on August 1 ahead of its official inauguration. The bodies of Sujatha and her son were shifted to the Government General Hospital, Khammam, for post-mortem examination.
