On the heels of unveiling the Karen O collaboration “Blue Shadows,” the Avalanches have announced their fourth studio album, No Bad Memories, due out Oct. 16 through Modular Recordings. The new single follows “Blue Shadows” “Every Single Weekend” featuring Jamie xx and “Together” with Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and Prentiss. The album appears to include a whopping 31 tracks but the full list has yet to be revealed. According to the band, No Bad Memories explores “the simultaneously magical and insidious ways that advertising and name-brand technology wraps itself around our memories,” examining the blurry line between genuine nostalgia and the carefully engineered emotional pull of corporate culture. Like Wildflower and We Will Always Love You, the new album is built around an expansive cast of collaborators.
