David Grey Young, 94, of Blacksburg, Va. passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on March 5, 1932, in Little Creek, Va. to the late Dewey and Effie Young. In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, Almeta, David was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruby Munsey, Dorothy Joplin, Muriel Davis, Debbie Martin, and Janice Fisher; brothers, Woody Young, Ernest Young, and Buford Young. David was a proud U.S. Army veteran who retired from the military after more than twenty years of honorable service. Those left to cherish David’s memory include his son, Kevin Young; daughter in law, Kelly Young; brother, Grady Young; sisters, Joyce Kincaid (Jim) and Judy Gauthier (Ray); grandchildren, Kaden Young and Kolbie Young.
