The crossing point in question links Aughnacloy Orange Hall to Drop Inn Outlet, with traffic coming from Sydney Street as well.
“An initial assessment has been undertaken on the Northern side of the current controlled pedestrian crossing, and this assessment has indicated that a full day assessment is now required.
And the amount of times that somebody that works in the [Daisy Lane] coffee shop has said to me that they’ve had to either run off the pedestrian crossing or jump back or whatever.
Addressing Council Chair, Councillor Deirdre Varsani, Councillor Burton asked: “If you can maybe, as Chair, go back and say that [an audible signal] is a vital part of the pedestrian crossing for this rural area.
The new location being favoured by Councillor Gildernew for an additional crossing is outside Aghaloo Community Centre, across from McKeevers Chemists.
