"The Battle of Newtownbutler happened on July 31, 1689, but many people here may not know that we are here today to celebrate that victory.
"King James and his Jacobite army tried to conquer all of Ireland for his cause.
"We are familiar with the Siege of Londonderry, but we are less familiar with the battle here in County Fermanagh."
Mr Wiggins added that in March 1689, the Jacobite army made their first move in their attempt to conquer Enniskillen.
"It was there, they had a decision to make, would they advance against a Jacobite army who were twice their number or retreat.
