Police have increased patrols in West Bridgford following reports of a group of young people causing persistent disruption in Bridgford Park and the surrounding area. Rushcliffe neighbourhood policing inspector Tim Cuthbert said several arrests had been made in connection with criminal damage and theft offences. Rushcliffe Borough Council has moved a CCTV camera into the park to increase coverage and has also deployed private security patrols. Police said further arrests and other interventions would be made where necessary, with officers also prepared to use dispersal powers. The action forms part of an increased police presence in the area during the summer.
