Dear Editor:Two years ago, a voter guide showed up in mailboxes across St. Johns County, Fla. Church voter guides get most of the scrutiny. But as St. Johns County shows, they aren’t the only way well-meaning voters get led astray. Versions of the St. Johns County scheme keep surfacing in communities across the country. It’s exactly why the St. Johns County scheme targeted a primary — when turnout is low, and the voters who show up carry outsized weight.
