Dean French pleaded guilty to the offence which happened more than three years ago on the night of June 10, 2022. Prosecutor Gillian Koren said an emergency call was made to say a man was under the influence of acid at an address in Peeblesshire at 9.24pm. The ambulance service attended but on-route to Borders General Hospital, he demanded to be let out of the ambulance. Police were contacted and at 11pm, French was traced behind the wall of the Walkerburn car wash. The court was told the case had a protracted history with non-appearances and social work appointments.
