A Winnipeg man has been charged with murder in a shooting that triggered a lockdown in a northern Manitoba community on Friday. Mounties say the 22-year-old was arrested Wednesday afternoon, five days after a 42-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound on Pimicikamak Cree Nation. Cross Lake RCMP were notified around 9:30 p.m. Friday by First Nation Safety Officers about a seriously injured individual. “Officers attended the scene immediately and discovered two males, one with a gunshot wound,” authorities said in a news release. Pimicikamak Cree Nation, or Cross Lake, is about 530 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
