Massive Tree Falls on Parked Vehicles Outside Mérida’s T1 HospitalMÉRIDA, Mexico — A massive tree collapsed outside the Ignacio García Téllez T1 Hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Mérida, crushing multiple parked vehicles and causing significant material damage.
The incident occurred along Calle 34 near the hospital premises when the large tree unexpectedly uprooted, sending heavy branches crashing down onto cars parked alongside the curb.
Witnesses reported a loud crack before the tree collapsed across the vehicles, causing extensive bodywork damage, shattered windshields, and dented roofs to at least two automobiles.
Emergency responders, including personnel from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) and municipal fire crews, arrived at the scene shortly after receiving emergency calls.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported, as the vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the collapse.
