The closure will affect lines between Bidston and Wrexham General from Sunday, August 16, to Sunday, August 30, with additional disruption expected on some routes between Wrexham General and Shrewsbury.
"These upgrades will make the railway more resilient to extreme weather, helping to reduce delays and improve reliability for years to come.
Additional works during the closure will include track renewals, level crossing upgrades, rail stressing, and signalling work between Shotwick, Dee Marsh Junction, Weston Rhyn, Ruabon, and Burton.
Buses will also run from Wrexham General to Shrewsbury, with some services extended to Chester.
Trains between Crewe and Wrexham General will operate approximately hourly.
