DG NCAA Demands Restoration of Agency’s Original 65 Per cent of 5 Per cent Ticket Sales, Cargo Charges

Kasim Sumaina in AbujaThe Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has demanded the restoration of its original 65 percent share of the 5 percent ticket sales charge (TSC) and cargo sales charge (CSC). The DGCA averred that the Authority believes that every aviation agency should be adequately funded to effectively discharge its statutory responsibilities. He reminded that “aviation safety is not sustained by legislation alone. However, he underscored that “Nigeria recorded its lowest Effective Implementation score, of only 50%, in the area of financial resources supporting the State Safety Oversight System. In other words, ICAO has identified the adequacy or lack thereof, of financial resources available to Nigeria’s safety oversight authority as an area requiring improvement.
