Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that “Madden,” the upcoming biopic starring Nicolas Cage as NFL coaching and commentating legend John Madden, will premiere as a Prime Video original film on November 18th. Also starring is Christian Bale as NFL owner Al Davis. Madden, who died in 2021, was the larger-than-life head coach of the Oakland Raiders in the 1970s. The film is set in the 1970s during Madden’s coaching era, and when Davis was the owner of the Oakland Raiders. It will show how Madden had to leave years of coaching behind due to health concerns, helped develop the Madden NFL video game series, and found later success as a broadcaster and pitchman.
