WARM congratulations have been extended to Gaoth Dobhair native Margaret Carmichael who recently reached the remarkable milestone of her 100th birthday which she celebrated with family members and friends in Clydebank. Although Margaret made Scotland her home many decades ago, her roots have always remained firmly planted in her native Gaoth Dobhair. Margaret is now resident in Edinbarnet Nursing Home in Clydebank and a function took place there to mark her remarkable birthday. AdvertisementAmong those who travelled from Gaoth Dobhair were Margaret’s brother, Dom Gallagher and his wife, Bríd and Margaret’s nieces, Bernie Gallagher and twins, Noreen Mooney and Margaret Bonnar. Pat Boyle of St. Eunan’s, Clydebank and who is also administrator of St. Margeret’s and Our Lady Redeemer’s parishes, and who has strong connections with Dore, Gaoth Dobhair, also called in to the celebrations.
