Following his loss to Oba Femi at WWE WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar seemingly signaled his retirement by leaving his gloves and shoes behind in the ring. According to Dave Meltzer of "Wrestling Observer Radio," WWE had long penciled in Lesnar's farewell around the 2026 SummerSlam premium live event. "Well, I mean, that was always the plan, for him to retire after SummerSlam this year," Meltzer said. Before a thunderous crowd in Minneapolis, Lesnar took on Femi in a main event Hell in a Cell Match on SummerSlam Saturday. As a sign of respect, Lesnar raised Femi's arm, then proclaimed him as the future of WWE.
