THE decision by Arab and Muslim foreign ministers meeting in Jordan to establish a permanent mechanism to document and expose Israeli violations in Jerusalem and at its Islamic and Christian holy sites is a necessary initiative. Coupled with a dedicated media platform to chronicle violations against holy sites and worshippers and place them before international organizations and the wider world, the initiative seeks to ensure that documented evidence is transformed into sustained international awareness and pressure. Yet despite the growing body of evidence, accountability has remained elusive, while the violations continue with alarming regularity. The challenge today is not simply exposing these violations but ensuring that they remain at the forefront of international attention and generate meaningful diplomatic and political action. It should now be matched by sustained diplomatic resolve to ensure that repeated violations no longer pass without scrutiny or consequence.
