Construction News
Farrans has been appointed to build new passenger walkways at London Stansted Airport as part of the airport’s terminal transformation programme.
Airport owner Manchester Airports Group appointed the contractor to construct skylinks connecting the terminal with existing satellite buildings containing departure and arrival gates.
Farrans plans to preassemble sections offsite inside a vacant airport hangar on the north side of the airfield.
Manchester Airports Group capital delivery programme director Rob Stewart said Farrans had worked on the project’s design, planning and enabling phases.
He said the project required construction activity to be managed around continuous airport operations with limited disruption.
