Acting Minister for Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has launched a special commemorative edition of the Defender Magazine in honour of the late former Defence Minister, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah. Dr Ato Forson described the occasion as more than a memorial event, saying it represented a national affirmation of a life defined by service, integrity, and patriotism. He said Dr Omane Boamah’s leadership was marked by humility, professionalism, and a commitment to national development. According to him, the late Defence Minister championed professionalism, discipline, and accountability while advancing reforms aimed at improving the operational readiness of the Ghana Armed Forces. He also highlighted Dr Omane Boamah’s advocacy for veterans and his efforts to strengthen collaboration between military and civilian institutions in the interest of national security.
