One of Ottawa’s top engineers is sharing concerns about the O-Train west extension after damage from a severe storm has slowed work and forced repairs. An external consultant is looking at the overall schedule for the Stage 2 West Extension to determine the timelines for the project after the Canada Day event. When complete, the west extension will have 15 more kilometres of rail and 11 new stations. On July 1, intense flooding closed roads, cancelled Canada Day celebrations. According to Environment Canada’s data, 118.4 millimetres of precipitation fell on Canada Day.
