The members of Eskmuthe Rowing Club, as the ‘Eskmuthe Dragons’, will be taking part in the St Columba’s Hospice Care Dragon Boat Race at Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry. They will join crews from across the region in a day of fast-paced racing and fundraising on September 5. The event aims to raise funds to support the hospice's work providing specialist palliative care, Hospice at Home services, family support and bereavement care across Edinburgh and the Lothians. A spokesperson said that while rowing a dragon boat was a little different from racing a St Ayles skiff, teamwork, rhythm and plenty of determination were just as important.
