For three days in August, one North Carolina event center basically turns into a giant patchwork of color. That history gives the annual show a natural connection to western North Carolina without limiting the displays to one regional style. The show also gives visitors a chance to learn more about how that judging works. Several demonstrations are led by representatives of vendors appearing at the show, which also gives visitors a chance to see products in action before buying them. Bed quilts, baby quilts, and wall hangings can all appear there, and purchased pieces can be taken home at the time of sale.
