The Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB Ghana) have pledged their shared commitment to deepen collaboration, strengthen ethics and professionalism to ensure a more resilient and trusted banking sector. Also, digital assets, banking sector reforms, future of technology; and the role of AI and quantum computing in defining the future of banking were discussed. The incoming President of CIB Ghana, Dr. Ellen Ohene-Afoakwa, outlined a vision to dial up ethics and professionalism, rebuild the Bankers’ House and host a truly World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI). He also outlined the Bank’s effort to ensure rigour of verifications in the banking sector, and ensue success of community banking reforms. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of CIB Ghana and the Bank of Ghana to building a sound, resilient, ethical and trusted banking sector that supports sustainable economic growth.
