Parents, students react to Indiana school cellphone banINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — As Indiana schools begin their first academic year with a statewide classroom cellphone ban, Indianapolis parents and students are offering their opinions on the new law. “I think overall it will definitely improve our academic outcomes,” said Shortridge High School’s new principal, Eric Sinclair. “I think it will help students with better grades,” said Campbell Bell, senior at Shortridge High School. “It’s kind of like a dual-wielded sword basically,” said Darrick Colon, senior at Shortridge High School. “I think it was a little shortsighted (to pass the law),” said Rebecca Lund, another Shortridge parent.
