As Uganda Airlines works to rebuild both its business and reputation, the national carrier has unveiled plans to acquire eight Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft, with the first deliveries expected in 2032 and 2033, respectively. While Acting CEO Girma Wake acknowledges that some routes, including Nigeria and South Africa, were poorly managed, he insists that regional connectivity remains central to the airline’s growth strategy. The airline currently serves 16 destinations across Africa, as well as London, Mumbai, and Dubai, with Accra and Kigali next on its expansion list. Betty Ndagire reports.
