SKARDU – The bodies of five more climbers who were killed in the Broad Peak avalanche have been transported to Skardu, officials said on Thursday. With the latest recovery, the bodies of eight climbers have now been brought to Skardu, while search operations continue for two missing mountaineers. The avalanche struck Broad Peak a few days ago, killing 10 climbers in one of the deadliest incidents in the mountain’s history. Alpine Club President said the tragedy was one of the worst disasters ever recorded on Broad Peak. Five bodies were airlifted earlier, while the bodies of four Nepali climbers and one Chinese climber were transported to Skardu on Thursday.
