LAHORE – Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) busted illegal internet distribution networks operating in Lahore, arresting two individuals and confiscating telecom equipment. The joint operation was carried out by PTA Lahore Zonal Office in collaboration with the FIA Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) Lahore, targeting illegal internet setups in Javed Colony, Ghazi Road, Lahore. During raids, authorities took action against two internet service setups — M/s Chabariya Internet Service and M/s Brother Cable Net — where officials found unauthorized internet distribution systems being operated without a valid PTA license. Two suspects were arrested during the operation, including the owner of one of the setups, while technical equipment used for the unlicensed services was seized. PTA urged consumers to subscribe only to internet services offered by licensed operators and verify providers through the list available on its official website.
