The operator has held Sighted Guide Training delivered by Guide Dogs Scotland to improve support for people living with sight loss. Staff members took part in a sighted guide training session delivered by Guide Dogs Scotland, gaining insights into how best to assist people with sight loss. The training covered everything from eye conditions and access rights to the practical challenges that can be encountered when travelling. The highlight for many was taking part in a blindfold guided walk, helping them to better appreciate the importance of confidence, communication and support. Western Ferries said it is committed to making every journey as accessible and welcoming as possible, and that training like this helps ensure the team has the knowledge and practical skills to support all customers.
